Snow joke!

Recommended music for this post; Dean Martin - Let it snow.

It hardly ever snows in Liverpool. Really... apparently its something to do with the sea air or so I'm told, but I dont know how that could be the case. Anyway, it hardly ever snows in Liverpool.

I can remember occasions growing up when I'd watch the news and schools across England would be closed because of the snow, and I'd still have to go to school because even if we had snow it wouldnt be enough to close everything down. And then when I went to work in an English school I was disappointed to discover that when schools all over the place were closed because of the snow, mine would be open. Today was one of those days.

I cant complain though, in fact I was over the moon when I saw the lovely piles of fluffy snow this morning, because despite a treacherous journey to work, I knew I could complete a task I'd be waiting two years to do. The Headteacher wanted a snow-covered-school photograph for the front of our Christmas card two years ago. I tried to do it in photoshop, but it looked terrible. I asked the professional designers at our publishers to do it and it looked terrible. But today I could photograph it for real. I had loads of pupils reporting that they saw me 'running about in the snow taking photos' and apparently loads of them waved at me from their classrooms but I didnt notice.

So I know you are waiting to see some of the snow that is dominating my blog today... here you go...

Ok only joking... that was the snow yesterday... I didnt realise the snow today would be so much better or I wouldnt have bothered filming this. Here is the view this evening...

In case you are wondered I have Come Dine With Me on Channel 4 in the background. No, its not a Schnapps connoisseur in my living room. And here is the view out the back door...

Dee and I had a Ray Mears type experience this evening as we decided to brave the arctic weather and go hunting in the frosty wilderness.... hunting for cheesecake that is. We didnt find any, but we did find two chocolate brownie sundaes. That will see us through a bitterly cold night safely.

In other exiting news, our alarm is fixed! Yes I can hardly believe it. I forgot to mention it last week. One of our guests at the biggest ever dinner party fixed it by pressing different buttons until it shut up. Thanks Paul!

Website of the Week: to keep up with the winter sport theme of this blog, I think you should all go Extreme Heli Boarding.
