Move over Toyota Prius!

Two posts in one day? Don't get used to it folks, I just forgot to mention something. I had the car MOT'd this week. Its always a nervous time for the non-mechanically minded driver. What previously unheard of piece of the car will apparently be broken this time?

Well I have to replace 3 bits of the car - but thats not the exciting news... the exhaust emissions test result turned out to the real mind bender.

A car's exhaust should not contain more than 0.2% carbon monoxide.... what did my car score? 0.000%! That's right... it scored nothing at all!

A car's exhaust should not contain more than 200 ppm of hydrocarbons.... what did my car score? 1ppm! That's right... one!

Carbon footprint? What carbon footprint? I think I might drive everywhere now. And my advice for anyone worried about the impact of their driving? Don't buy yourself an expensive hybrid car... buy yourself a 5 year old Vauxhall Corsa.

(PS - I've decided to start typing in some labels for my posts.... you know... just in case anyone runs a search for "hydrocarbons" or something like that)
