Just in time for my new camera, Liverpool is hosting Look 11 - the International Photography Festival. One part of the festival was "Capture Liverpool" which invited people to send in a single photographic image that captures Liverpool - the people, streets, work, change, action, distance, light, details, fun, encounters, home, public, personal – anything that builds up a portrait of the city.
With prizes on the go, I thought I'd give it a go. I sent in this;

To be honest, it loses something in the compression here. You can check it out in its full glory on Flickr. Also to be honest, I wasn't really hoping for one of the prizes. I just hoped my picture would be considered good enough to be displayed in public. It was! My photograph is currently on display on a public street in Liverpool city centre!
So are all of the other entries of course. All 369 of them as it turns out. So its not as much of an endorsement as it seemed at first. Nevertheless, I am still happy.
