Neighbourly kindness

12.07 PM is early for a post I know, but after witnessing my 'lovely' neighbour at work I felt a compulsion to share.

I was watching TV while eating breakfast when I hear something banging on the wall. Mute. I realised the sound I could here was a brush being used outside the house, hitting the wall as it went. I looked out the window to see (reflected off my car) my neighbour from two doors up brushing up the pavement. He was very kindly brushing not just his own area, but the area in front of the two houses either side of him. In other words, up as far as my house.

Now I dont mind that he doesnt brush in front of my house. My mess is my responsibility. But I do mind his strategy for dealing with the dirt. Rather than pick it up with a dustpan, he just brushed it all down between my car and my house! Dust, leaves, cigarette butts, McDonalds rubbish and so on! How rude!

Well I have been watching a lot of Desperate Housewives on DVD during my time stuck in the house ill, so I immediately knew the correct strategy for dealing with this. Brush it all up into a dustpan and leave it on his doorstep.

Fortunately for Eric, I wasn't brought up on Wisteria Lane. Eric's mess, and for that matter Ivy's mess, Mary's mess and my mess are all in my bin. Case closed, but I'll be keeping an eye on him!
