Truckfest - Bank Holiday Weekend Part 2

Chris Moyles really did elevate the level of interest in my bank holiday weekend activities with his Truckfest slot on Radio 1 this morning. Suddenly people who barely cared where I was at the weekend need to know - "Did you really go to Truckfest?" and "Do you love trucks that much?"

Well the evidence speaks for itself! The camera never lies! Here I am on the approach road:

Here i am enjoying* Truck FM:

Actually that was about as close as we got. Dee and I have visited Peterborough at the same time as Truckfest a couple of times now. Last time we met a whole crowd of Northern Irish truckers in the city centre. This time we found the actual show grounds where all the action takes place. I got a quick glance as I sped (within the limit) past. We did manage take a picture of Dee inspecting the back of a random lorry in a rest stop to add to the illusion but sadly I cant find it.

Eagle eyed readers will notice the asterisk in the comment about enjoying Truck FM. Sure the music was good, but the stuff in between about brushed-steel-effect dashboards and CD holders in the cab was enough to push one over the edge!

Still - I have to say the truckers we met were lovely people and I'm sure they have a lovely time enjoying eachother's trucks. Each to their own!

By the way - if you are interested - Truckfest travels around the country. Sorry Northern Ireland readers (probably the bulk of my readership really) the closest one to you is in Scotland.

As a special tribute to the truckers - a second Website of the Week: www.truckfest.com
