Brrr

Driving home to Ireland for Christmas I couldn't believe how cold it was. At its lowest, the car told me it was -5.

I thought it was incredible, but that's old news now. On my way to work on Friday, I hit a new low of -10! I regret that I don't have any photographic evidence to support this revelation... but I didn't have an Assistant Director of Photography on the journey this time.

I am equally impressed that the snow is still around. It was nice to have the snowfall on Tuesday, which we dont often get here. This pic shows my garden buried under a fabulous 6 centimeters of snow.
And its still there! Melted away from the edges a bit, and not looking nearly as pretty, but its still around nearly a week later. Now that never happens!
I could get used to all this arcticness, and I could certainly get used to two day working weeks! I wonder what other firsts are in store over the next few days.

  1. Not that it's a competition, but we have had the same snow on the ground since 19 December! Its definitely getting old now. Although now I have wet-weather tires on my car, so I shouldn't get stuck again :)
