Not the usual John Grisham fare. American football, tourism, food, wine and opera. No secret identities, double dealing or intricate legal affairs. Although there is a brief mention of a lawsuit and two appearances in a judge's chambers.
Not being a sports fan, and not having any knowledge whatsoever of American football, the sporting action was somewhat lost on me. It might be a thrilling, vivid and lifelike narrative of action on the pitch/field/sporting surface, but how would I know? I was able to follow it, and felt like I understood it. I don't think I could ask for more from Mr Grisham.
A light, enjoyable read, but nothing to shout about.
