Scandalhenge

We visited Stonehenge last summer.  We looked at it through a lovely wire fence;

The man you can see on the other side of the fence paid £6.90 for the privilege of walking on that little pathway.  Visitors are not allowed any closer. I was somewhat disappointed, having some romantic notion of walking between the stones and really connecting with the mighty monument.  And getting some lovely photographs of course.  The best I could do was stick my camera through the fence to get what must be roughly the same shot as Mr Flash-the-Cash above;

The government announced today that they are cutting funding for the proposed new visitors' centre.  Reporting on-location, I couldnt help but notice the ITV reporter was not standing on the little path!  He was allowed on the grass!  Well now.  That's just not fair!

Imagine my shock and horror and indignation and other such feelings to notice people walking among the stones!  Walking among the stones!  Well it's just a disgrace!
